The archetypal Chesterfield - with its equal-height rolled arms and back, deep diamond button tufting, and nailhead-trimmed silhouette - was widely commissioned for gentlemen’s clubs, private libraries, and grand hotel lounges across Britain from the late nineteenth century onward.

This single-seater preserves those canonical proportions in a compact club format. The tightly scrolled arms, hand-tufted backrest, and low seat profile reflect upholstery practices associated with English workshops supplying institutional and domestic interiors in the early twentieth century. Turned hardwood bun feet anchor the form, while the leather upholstery is finished to develop a natural patina over time, echoing the softly burnished surfaces seen in historic club rooms.
