The Odense Mid-Century Modern Sofa reflects the design philosophy that defined Scandinavian furniture in the decades following the Second World War. From the late 1940s through the early 1960s, Danish designers transformed domestic interiors through furniture that emphasized proportion, craftsmanship, and quiet architectural clarity.

This two-seater sofa follows the language of Danish Modern design, characterized by its rectilinear arms, elevated wooden base, and gently tapered legs that lend the structure a light visual presence. The raised timber plinth recalls construction methods widely used in Scandinavian upholstery workshops, where solid wood frames were celebrated rather than concealed.

Loose seat cushions and button-tufted back cushions reference upholstery treatments common in mid-century lounge seating, balancing visual structure with comfort. The clean geometry of the frame and the restrained detailing allow the materials and proportions to speak for themselves - an essential principle of post-war Nordic modernism.
